Power and Energy
Since its establishment over 50 years ago, the company has imported over 500 power projects for 30 provinces and autonomous regions of the nation, including more than 300 power plants, 60 power transmission projects, and 20 consultant projects, the total value of which exceeds 17 billion US Dollars. The import scope covers the complete equipment for thermal, hydro, wind-driven, nuclear, gas turbine power plants and pumped storage stations, power transmission lines as well as consultancy services in power plant engineering and design. Up to now, the total number of power generating units imported by CNTIC has exceeded 500 sets with a total generating capacity of 108,400 MW. The Company has been involved in the import of equipment for the key power projects of the nation's economy, such as construction of gas turbine power station and technology import, Ertan Hydro Power Station, Xiao Lang Di Water Conservation Project on the Yellow River, Three Gorges Hydro Power and DC Transmission Project, Da Yawan Nuclear Power Plant, Neclear Power Self-reliance Program Supporting Project as well as the import of power equipment and energy management systems for the major power networks in North, East, North-East and Central China. With the operation of a series of newly built power projects, China has stood in the front rank in the total power generation capacity in the world. CNTIC has made its contributions in the nation’s electrification program with the establishment of major power networks, large sized power plants and units, high voltage transmission, and highly automated control systems.
Brilliant business performance has also been achieved by the Company in the export of power equipment to foreign markets, where CNTIC has undertaken and developed a 300MW Thermal power station in Armenia, a 2x115MW thermal power station in the Philippines, a 4x245MW hydro power station in Iran, a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) power station in Thailand, as well as power projects in countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam and Tajikistan etc. CNTIC was awarded the Contract of a thermal power plant in Suralayal, Indonisia in 2007 through international tendering. This will be the first 600MW power plant undertaken by a Chinese enterprise by EPC form abroad.
